ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR B.Ed. (Session 2021 to 2023)

On-line application form for admission to the B.Ed. Course of studies for the session 2021-23 will be available in Kalna College Website (http://www.kalnacollege.ac.in) on and from 02/09/21 to 18/09/21. Cost of application: There is no application fee.

Minimum Eligibility: Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible for application. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC, ST and PWD categories.

NB: 50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelor's Degree with Honours may be determined either on the basis of Honours marks only or on the basis of Honours marks & the marks of elective subjects taken together.

Reservation: As per NCTE rules.

Information Sheet Admission to 2- year B.Ed. Course of Studies under Department of B.Ed., Kalna College, Kalna, Dist-PurbaBardhaman. Session: 2021-23

[Candidates are advised to follow the information given below]

[Duration of Course: 2 years Medium of instruction: Bengali or English]

1. Submission of online application form of a candidate does not automatically ensure his/her eligibility for admission to the course. Candidates, engaged in any other course of studies/job/Full-time Research Work, shall not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously. Fresh candidates must verify the eligibility, age limit & availability of method subject(s) before filling up the application form.

2. Intake of students: 100 [Deputed-50, Freshers-50 (B.U.-40, O.U.-10)]. Deputed – 50: [UR-34, SC-10, ST-04, PWD-02] Fresh-50 (BU-40, OU-10) Untrained in -service candidates, teaching class VI-XII in Govt. aided schools only, shall be treated as deputed. If the seats reserved for deputed teachers, remain vacant, those seats will be de-reserved and offered to the fresh candidates as 80:20 ratios between home university and other university at the time of counseling.

4. As per instructions of UGC, the eligible SC/ST, OBC, PWD Students etc. should submit the scholarship form for the academic year by 2021-2022, for processing scholarship to SC/ST, OBC, PWD etc. each year.

5. Age Limit: Age of the fresh Candidates as on 30th June, 2021 shall not exceed 38 years and there shall be relaxation of 5 years in favourof PWD category candidates.

6. Reservation: 22%, 6% & 2% of total seats shall be kept reserved for SC, ST & PWD candidates (Both Fresh & Deputed) respectively.

7. As per Govt. order no. 330-Edn(CS)/ES/EE/10M-16/15, dated: 06.04.2015, ratio for home University students and other University students shall be 80:20

8. Availability of Method Subjects:
a) Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physical Science (Physics & Chemistry), History, Geography, Philosophy, Pol. Science, Economics, Commerce
b) Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who did not study at the degree level at least one of the method subjects available in any college will not be considered for admission even if their names are found in the merit list. Deputed Candidates shall have to take the subject as the 1st method in which they are the approved teachers.

9. Availability of Application Form: Application forms shall be made available on the Website of Kalna College [http://www.kalnacollege.ac.in] on and from 02/09/21 to 18/09/21.

10. Submission of Application Form:
a) Before submitting the application forms, candidates must ensure that they have carefully entered their detailed information with self-mail (Gmail) ID & contact no. (Not Changeable). b) Selected Fresh candidates have to submit Self Attested photo copies of Admit Card [M.P. (S.E.) or equivalent], Mark Sheets (both sides) of all the public examinations passed and certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any, at the time of admission along with the original.
c) Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation against SC/ST category, must enclose self-attested photo copy of the certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO. 1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011. The Certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below: i) Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal. ii) Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe and ordinary residing within such jurisdiction.
d) Selected Deputed Candidates must submit self-attested photo copies along with the original of Admit Card [M.P. (S.E.) or equivalent], Mark Sheets (both sides) of all the public examinations passed, Certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any and the Copies of Approval for the post(s) held at present and earlier along with the resolution of the Managing Committee of the school concerned (Present employer), at the time of admission. Teachers, teaching for class VI onward in the Govt. Aided Institutions only, shall be considered as Deputed Candidates. Their application forms must be countersigned by the concerned District Inspector of Schools/Competent Authority otherwise, their application forms shall be treated as cancelled.
e) No candidate needs to submit more than one application form.
f) Last date of submission of application forms: 18/09/21.

11. For PWD candidates only: Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation against PWD category, must submit self-attested photo copy of the certificates obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. [the certificate must be obtained from the authority not below the rank of a Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital. In the certificate, the extent of Physical disability must not be less than 40%].

12. Selection Procedure:
a) Admissions are taken in the college on the base of merit list prepared by the college administration.
b) For Deputed Candidates of all categories (Gen., SC, ST, PWD), provisional Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same length of service of two or more candidates, 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be Academic Score and Date of Birth respectively.
c) For Fresh Candidates of all categories (Gen., S.C.,S.T. & PWD), subject wise provisional Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of their Grade Points to be computed as per the following norms:
i) 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P.(S.E.) or Equivalent Examination.
ii) 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the H.S. (10+2) or Equivalent Examination.
iii) a)15% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.SC./B.Com. (Gen.) Examinationor b)20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.SC./B.Com. (Hons.) or equivalent Examination.[Only honours marksorhonours marks + elective subjects’ marks you have to put in your application form (any one)]
iv) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examination.

**Before putting the marks of UG & PG, you have to convert your Grade point into percentage as per your university norms.
v) a) Ad hoc 5 marks shall be awarded for M.Phil. Degree or, b) Ad hoc 8 marks shall be awarded for Ph.D. degree. (Candidates with M.Phil& Ph.D. degrees both, only 8 marks be awarded).

14. Notification for publication for provisional Merit List will be available only on the College Website on 19/09/21

15. Any correction, you may edit your information profile from 20/09/21 to 21/09/21

16. Final Merit List will be published on 22/09/2021, on our college website.

17. Admission fees: For Deputed Category- Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) per year; for Fresher Category- Rs. 14,000/- (Rupees fourteen thousand only) per year.

18. Payment should be made through State Bank Collect to the dedicated College Account Number 35751009689 by using the online ATM card from anywhere. Link of the concerned admission fees receipt will be available on the State Bank Collect during the time of admission.

19. Document verification cum Admission in the subsequent phases will be held on 24/09/2021, 27/09/2021 (if seats are available) and 30/09/2021 (if seats are available) respectively.

20. The entire admission process will be held through online.

21. The minimum attendance of student-teachers shall be 80% for all course work & practicum and 90% for school internship as per NCTE Regulation- 2014.

22. The College also reserves right to drop or include any name if any suppression of facts on the part of the applicants or any mistake in the calculation of grade point is detected at any stage before and after admission.

23. Resultant vacancy, if any, will be notified later on.

24. Rules of The University of Burdwan, Govt. of West Bengal & NCTE will be followed in case of admission to the above-mentioned course of studies.
